Current societal challenges

🎯 Ambitious employment rate

Governments have set a target of an 80% employment rate by 2030. To reach this goal, supporting young people with an immigrant background is a priority.

🫥 Labour shortage

Belgium is facing a growing labor shortage, with nearly 185,000 positions across all sectors waiting to be filled.

🐙 End-of-career planning

Employability and lifelong learning have become key priorities for both private employers and the government.

💔 Polarization of society

The lack of connections between citizens and generations creates significant tensions and hinders the formation of a cohesive society.

Our impact on mentees

Our personalized and intensive mentoring approach helps overcome the specific barriers faced by jobseekers with an immigration background, particularly young NEETs and individuals experiencing long-term unemployment.

Beyond the employment outcomes, mentoring also enables these young people to develop valuable skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Our impact on mentors

By relying on the training and advice provided by DUO for a JOB, mentors pass on the experience and skills they have acquired throughout their career to support a young person to launch into life. On the other hand, mentees share their life experiences, projects, ambitions and doubts in return.

It's a real “win-win” situation that allows each mentor to remain active, to feel useful, to question their prejudices, to value their skills and to develop new ones
